There is a fanfic called 'flapjacks' where it shows how AJ and Dash just get closer and closer without realizing it, until one day they both think "wait, when did I start living in the same house with her?" and realize it's love, and only when they realize this do they decide to get married some time in the future. I think that's a path appledash would take :D
